Be and Become Voice Camp

What They’ll Learn and Experience

Confidence + Communication

Our shyest new English language learning students shook of the fear around communicating clearly and confidently in podcasts, interviews, and speeches. From generating content ideas, enhance writing skills, and improving question-and-answer techniques, students are empowered in their forming of personal and professional connections. Recording in small group with like-minded peers allows students to express themselves freely and edit what they don’t like from their performance.

Takeaway: Students get video lessons and materials through their camp Canvas course, which they can use to practice speaking, presenting, and creating content.

Leadership and Collaboration

Campers will learn to create and run their own podcast or YouTube channel. They will gain skills in managing projects, organizing, booking guests, researching content, and working with peers to produce and publish professional episodes. Students will understand media and become leaders in their interests, ready to share their messages confidently, conduct research, and build their communities as future leaders.

Takeaway: Students build strong friendships by working together on projects that match their interests, while gaining important skills in marketing, communication, and project management.

Pre and Post Production Skills

Master storytelling through audio and video recording as students create podcasts using professional tools, software and studio equipment. Students will master recording equipment, software like Riverside, and manage a YouTube channel. They'll gain editing skills and learn to publish content online. This training helps them appear confidently on camera and communicate effectively while developing technical skills in media production.

Takeaway: Students will leave with a podcast theme, ideas for future episodes, polished episodes for their portfolio, and the opportunity to be a guest on the Be and Become Podcast for added exposure.
